We are a premier wave pool facility that offers a unique and thrilling surfing experience.

Our wave mimics river waves and was modeled off the one in Munich, Germany.
We don’t use jets and we do use a deep water pool to ensure an authentic surfing experience.
We have 12 high-efficiency pumps that lift water to a ramp. The water flows downhill until it is rapidly slowed down by an upward ramp. The slow-down causes the water to lift producing a head-high wave. We can change the steepness of the wave using “floaters” installed in the bottom of the surfing area.

Fireside Surf welcomes participants of all ages 10 and up, weighing over 75 pounds.
Whether you're a seasoned surfer or a beginner, our facilities and programs cater to individuals and families, fostering a sense of togetherness as you Eat, Bond, and Surf.

No prior surfing experience is required.
In fact, we think this is the place you will want to learn to surf.
All of the barriers to ocean surfing are removed, allowing you to focus on the mechanics of balance, board control, turns, carves, and maybe even getting a little air, all before you implement these skills during your first ocean surfing experience or paddle-in wave pool experience.
Our expert instructors will provide guidance and lessons to beginners, and we will offer coaching programs as you progress your skills.

Safety is our utmost priority at Fireside Surf.
Our team and technology create a controlled and safe surfing environment.
We have trained lifeguards on duty at all times, and our facility adheres to strict safety protocols.
Our coaches will provide you a safety brief and assist you every step of the way.
Your first three rides will require use of a helmet and soft-board, regardless of skill level.
Our emergency stop ceases water flow in literally seconds, creating a clear and shallow wading pool where you can stand up and exit effortlessly.

We are located in Grandscape, The Colony, Texas.
Our exact location is at the southern-most corner of Scheels Sporting Goods and directly behind the Grandscape Lawn Concert Stage.
If you plan on making a day trip, Grandscape is an experientially focused destination for individuals and families to come together, indulge in great food, and experience.
We’re excited to offer an incredible surfing experience as part of the larger Grandscape experience.
Oh and parking! There is no shortage, including a covered parking garage to keep your vehicle out of the sun while you crush some waves!

Dogs are allowed at Fireside Surf!
We encourage you to call and check our current policy prior to bringing your pet, as we reserve the right to change this policy at any time.
We ask that you be respectful and ensure your pet does not relieve itself on premises. Clean up and notify a staff member if an accident occurs!
If we have problems with pets, we will reluctantly have to change our policy.
Of course, Service Animals are allowed on site in accordance with laws and regulations under the ADA.
Due to health regulations, no animals are allowed in the pool or on the wave…despite how much they may love the water and surfing!
You are responsible for your pet / service animal’s behavior, welfare, and any incidents that may occur by having your pet at Fireside Surf.
We reserve the right to direct you where any animal is allowed on premises.

Our gift cards are easy to use when an individual decides to book a session since they are fully integrated with our booking system!
Gift Cards can only be used for surfing at this time and do not expire. They are final and non-refundable.

PREPARE FOR MY VISIT

Typically 40 minutes for each group or private buyout session. We also offer special event or corporate event buyouts, which can be customized to fit your desired experience.

If you purchase a voucher during our pre-opening sales, we will make an announcement when our booking calendar goes live, which should be about 2-4 weeks prior to opening.
Make sure our emails do not go to your spam by adding us to your contacts and marking us as not spam with your email provider.
Once our calendar goes live, you will be able to enter your voucher code on our website to book your session.
You can always call our support team if you have problems getting your session locked in.

Single sessions and multi-session packs are for you to use. They are not transferrable.
With a single session, you are booking with a group of people who you may or may not know, and are surfing as a member of that 10-12 person max group.
A Buy-Out allows you to own the wave for an entire 40 minute session and have up to 15 individuals of your choosing join you on the wave.
For those serious about taking your game to the next level, you might choose to ride solo and maximize your reps!
Pro-tip - Bring at least one buddy if you decide to do a buy-out…You will get gassed ripping on the wave!

Show time is 45 minutes prior to your session to get checked in, oriented to the site, change into your surf gear, and receive your instructional presentation and safety briefing.
Your 40 minute wave session will have a maximum of 10-12 participants rotating turns on the wave.
When it is your turn, the instructor will place the board for you while you sit on the edge of the pool.
You will stand on the board while the instructor helps you maintain balance. Once you are steady, the instructor lets go and you are experiencing your very first surf session!
Keep your eyes up and point down the line to start your first turn.
When you fall, you’ll gently get pushed to the back of the pool where you stand up, grab your board, and return to the Lineup for your next best wave!
You might decide to try boogie boarding, switching boards, or a jumping “drop-in” during subsequent attempts!
After the session, its high-fives and handshakes, and maybe some tips for how to improve.
Our instructors can help you book your next session to maintain the learning momentum!
Take a hot shower, get comfortable clothes on for hanging out pool-side celebrating your successes and laughing over epic fails pool-side.
Refuel with our amazing menu and grab drinks from the bar for an epic continuation of an epic day.

We recommend a comfortable bathing suit or board shorts. We will provide a rash-guard t-shirt for added protection. Ladies might prefer wearing shorts over their bikini bottom as well.
Swimwear should not have hard or sharp pieces.
You must remove all jewelry, watches, rings, etc unless you want to make a donation to the pool!
You are welcome to walk barefoot or bring sandals for poolside.
We will have sunscreen available for purchase if you forget yours.
Of course, if you decide to come as you are, our retail shop has everything you need to surf or spectate.
You CANNOT bring anything glass to the pool or a bad attitude! 🤙🏼

Goldilocks would say it’s “just right”!
Our pumps naturally heat the water above their efficiency temperature rating, so we will be cooling the water year round!
Expect 75-85 degree water year round with cooler water in the summer and warmer water in the winter!

Yes, you can bring your own surfboard or body board.
We have everything you need for your session, yet understand that you might want to practice using your gear!
Our staff will evaluate your equipment prior to allowing use in the wave pool.
We recommend boards with stringers to prevent buckling and a decent rocker to prevent boards getting stuck at the bottom of the pool. Please note, boards over 6’ long are not ideal for this wave.
You must have a 7’ non-coiling leash for your surfboard. Leashes are available for rent if you do not have the appropriate length for our wave.
As you would expect, use of your equipment is at your own risk.
Skim boards, SUP boards, and Foil boards are not allowed on the wave. Wake surf boards are allowable by exception and only after inspection by the staff.
We are not responsible for injuries, equipment damage, or any other unforeseeable events associated with use of your personal equipment.

This is the closest your family and friends will ever be to your surf experience!
We encourage friends and family to come and cheer you on.
They will love being closer than ever to surfing, enjoy the food and drinks, and witnessing your surfing experience!
You might even inspire them to discover their own connection to surf…or find out your grandparents have been hiding some serious surf talent!

Yes, we intend to have an ever growing performance board, soft-top and body board inventory!
Of course, your session includes a variety of soft-top surf boards to choose from at no additional charge.
You will be able to rent boards in person and online once our system is configured with our booking calendar closer to our opening date.
We intend to make wetsuits available in the cooler months as well!

Well - we aren’t sure yet!
That said, Waco Surf books two months out and we anticipate a similar level of demand at Fireside Surf.
We encourage you to book in advance so that you do not show up and miss an opportunity to surf!

We will do our very best to accommodate if you are running late.
However, if you are a first-time surfer, we need you to attend the safety briefing. If you miss it, you will essentially miss your session.
If you are a return surfer, you can jump in for the remainder of the session so long as you call to hold your place at least 20 minutes prior to the session. There is no guarantee we will be able to hold your spot.
Unfortunately, we do not offer refunds, credits, or rebooks for missed sessions.
We reserve the right to make exceptions if we can fill your session slot with a walk-up, drop-in surfer, or waiting list surfer. There are no guarantees and making exceptions to policy is at Fireside Surf’s sole discretion.

We intend to offer photo and video packages at an additional cost.
Your family and friends are welcome to film you pool-side.
That said, our cameras will be in the most ideal position to capture your wave session.
We are working on a special program for video footage and coaching that we hope to offer when we open the doors at Fireside Surf!
